Three Easy Ways to Reduce Stress!

by Katherine on August 18, 2011

We all experience stress on a daily basis, but we have choices on how we relate to stress. Our minds can be overactive causing us to live in the past with thoughts of regret, or living in the future contemplating the “what if’s” that may or may not even happen. Give stress thought-trains the red light and stop them in their tracks. To worry about your future, that “maybe this or maybe that will happen” is useless energy and much different than being concerned. Being concerned gives us clear thinking, while worry just upsets us and constricts the energy in our body and our thinking. Worry causes stress.

To calm an overactive mind, place your fingers above each eye. Press firmly for 3-4 minutes while taking in some long, slow, deep breaths. Say aloud or in your mind, “I am okay no matter what happens. I can handle this with grace and ease.” The subconscious mind does not know the difference between real and unreal. It will act on what you consistently tell it. You are creating a new reality for yourself. What you tell yourself comes true. Focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want.

With so much media attention on the negative things going on in the world, our bodies tend to go into the fight or flight mode. Our energy is in overdrive. Too much of this causes immune system challenges such as chronic fatigue, anger, irritability, depression, and even exhaustion. There is an energy pathway for the “fight or flight” energy that runs up and around each ear. It’s easy to sedate this energy! Place your fingertips in front of each ear and while pressing gently, smooth your fingers up and over the ears and off the back of your neck. Repeat this 5-6 times whilke taking in some deep breaths through your nose and out through your mouth. This is taking care of you! Stop for a moment right now and begin to create this healthy habit as a gift for yourself.

Lastly, you can trick your body into relaxing by using heavy breathing. Breathe in slowly for a count of 7 then breathe out for a count of 11. Repeat the 7-11 breathing until your heart rate slows down, your sweaty palms dry off and things start to feel more normal.

Stress is a normal part of life. In small quantities, stress is actually good — it can motivate you and help you be more productive. However, too much stress, or a strong response to stress, is harmful. You may need to seek further assistance if your stress is persistent.

Reprogram Negative Self-Talk Holding You Back!

by Katherine on August 3, 2011

Just like we reprogram our computers, we can erase and reprogram negative programming that causes us to struggle.  Awareness is the first step!   Adult messages had an incredibly significant effect on us. I was told I was shy! It took many years and persistence as an adult to change that belief.

Our attitudes play an important role of our success, and our attitudes are created, controlled and influenced by our beliefs.  Our beliefs turn out to be correct if they are true or not. The truth is, we need to be in charge of our internal chatter and use effective internal commands. Here are a few examples:

  • I am in control of what I think, therefore I choose thoughts that are beneficial to myself.
  • My feelings, attitudes and emotions fail to control me. I am in charge of how I act and react; it’s my choice.
  • I have such determination to succeed that nothing seems to stop me! I can accomplish anything I choose.
  • Roadblocks fail to limit me.  I can conquer any challenge and move ahead successfully.

Our self-talk gives our subconscious mind new directions. Apply new, improved, conscious self talk to yourself. Tell yourself what you want and need to hear. Put it in writing. Put colorful cards where you will be reminded of this commitment to create positive change for yourself. One hundred percent of it is up to us! Choose to have a winning attitude. Talk to yourself as you look in the mirror. Feel as if it is already happening! See it happening as if it already has happened.

Your subconscious does not know the difference between real or unreal. It acts on what you tell it. What are you choosing to tell yourself?  Be aware of negative self-talk holding you back and reprogram yourself to create success. What we believe about ourselves is what we become.  If you need assistance, Hypnosis and self-hypnosis  helps to reprogram new ideas.  We can choose to move into our GREATNESS!

According to Shakespeare: “Nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” Life is actually neutral. I believe it is our own perception of life challenges that causes us pain. How to Communicate with Your Body

July 30, 2010

Our subconscious mind speaks to us through our body. There is always a message. We just need to set up a two way dialog with it. Actually welcome the discomfort; what we resist just persists until it is screaming at you.  Pills and alcohol just cover it up temporarily.  In this communication trust your responses [...]
